project brief

  • goal: redesign the form of a printer to improve usability and reduce unnecessary space usage.

  • focus: enable a3 and a4 printing from a single, compact device.

  • issue: traditional printers occupy too much desk space; their exposed parts collect dust and require frequent cleaning.

  • need: a reimagined printer form that addresses these issues while giving it a modern, space-conscious aesthetic.

concept 

a printer inspired by the form of a coffee machine and the side-glass panel of a cpu, designed to take up less space on a desk or be mounted on a wall. the redesigned product includes a scanner that allows users to scan specific parts of a page, reducing paper waste

the hero feature is a mechanism that enables both a4 paper in landscape mode and a3 paper in portrait mode to be printed from the same slot, thanks to their shared dimension
